30 Days of Creativity (Day 11) Crayons

Today I decided to whip up a quick card using a really simple crayon resist technique. You might remember doing this type of thing with crayons when you were in Primary school?

Basically, all you need to do is stamp the image in Staz On (permanent ink) onto Whisper White or glossy cardstock, then trace around where you would like the white ‘resist’ to appear with a white crayon or candle. Try playing around with various applications of the crayon, use firm pressure if you want a distinct ‘resist’ or lighter pressure if you would like the effect to be more subtle.

Starting with the lightest colour first, sponge the ink over the design and you will gradually see the resist appear. I started with Pretty in Pink, then used Melon Mambo, finishing with Rich Razzleberry.

It is a bit of a surprise package as you complete the technique, but that is the beauty of homemade items, they are unique and no two are the same!
